What is Science Explorers?

We are an award winning company that provides inquiry based science programs to children ages 4-11 through after-school clubs, summer science camps and assemblies.

“I’ve never been very good in science”…no problem…

Science Explorers provide an opportunity to introduce children to the wonders of science and take the scare away! We’ve created detailed curriculum that makes science concepts easy to understand and lessons include background information and step by step guides through the hands-on experiments that are engaging and fun! The idea is that anyone can follow our curriculum – it’s up to you (or the teachers you hire) to supply the fun!

With our licensing program you will be able to offer: 1. Summer Science Camps, 2. After-School Science Clubs, 3. Science Assemblies

Background/History

Science Explorers was founded in 1999 by Jennifer Moorehead, aka “Jupiter Jen,” in her garage. Since then, we have provided hands on science fun in 11 states and five countries, to thousands of children.

Won the “Best New Business” award with a $25,000.00 prize through the Ben Franklin Partnership at Penn State.

Nominated for “Educator of the Year” through Technology Council of Central PA in 2000 and 2007.

Recipient of “Business of the Year” 2007, through SCORE.

Recipient of “Making a Difference” through the Technology Council of Central PA 2007.

Featured on cover of Harrisburg Magazine for “Dynamic Women of Harrisburg.”
